Portable Portico - Bartlett Summerschool, taught in collaboration with Ness Lafoy, Agostino Nickl and Matt Lucraft, 2017. The Portable Portico was a performative installation which was the result of a two week summer school at the Bartlett School of Architecture. Students were allocated a 1 x 1m 'patch' of the Classicistic Portico in UCL's main quad. After a series of survey, scale drawing and modelling exercises the students designed and fabricated wearable reinterpretations of their patches. The summer school culminated in a parade back to the portico. The course focussed on close observation, site survey and fabrication of large scale abstracted wearable models that were inspired by a visit to the National Theare and a backstage tour to learn about set and costume design.
